Overview

The Pyramid of Khafre is the second-largest of the Ancient Egyptian Pyramids of Giza. It is believed that the pyramid was constructed as a tomb for the Fourth-Dynasty pharaoh Khafre (Chephren). The pyramid has a square base and rises at an angle of 53 13'. It is notable for its distinctive casing stones that still cap the apex, unlike its larger neighbor, the Great Pyramid of Khufu, which has lost its pyramidion.

The Pyramid of Khafre is a significant example of ancient Egyptian architecture and engineering. It is one of the oldest and largest pyramids in Egypt and is part of the Giza Necropolis, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
