About this experience

This 6-hour walking tour includes a Knife factory tour and fruit knife crafting at Tojiro, one of Japan's best knife makers.You'll polish the blade and the craftsman will sharpen the edge. Then you assemble the handle.You can get an up close and personal view of the how the craftsmen work. Take the completed knife home. There's also a tax-free showroom!

A licensed guide will accompany you and help with translation. Before visiting Tojiro, you will go on a walking tour, please customize your tour with your guide by selecting 1-2 spots from‘what to expect’ or ‘itinerary’ list. .

Yahiko jinja (弥彦神社), also known as Iyahiko-jinja is a Shinto shrine in the Yahiko neighborhood of the village of Yahiko, Nishikanbara District, Niigata Prefecture, Japan. It is one of the three shrines which claim the title of ichinomiya of former Echigo Province. This shrine standing at the foot of a mountain is popularly known as a power spot for love and good fortune

The TSUBAMESANJO Regional Products Store is a famous tourist shop where you can find plenty of products made in “Tsubame-Sanjo”, Japan’s No.1 metalware production area.
A wide range of products, from produced made by traditional craftsmanship to those making full use of state-of-the-art technology.
Displaying and selling about 10,000 items of cutlery, knives, kitchen tools, pots, pans, and others.
Particularly, the Hand-Hammered metal craft manufactured by using a copper plate is extremely popular among customers from abroad.

It is located on the 2nd floor of Tsubamesanjo station. You can stop here for souvenir shopping at the end of the tour before leaving Niigata. You can buy Tsubamesanjo's quality goods too.
