Yahiko Village in Niigata Prefecture is known as the place where Amanokagayama-no-Mikoto, the great-grandson of Amaterasu-Omikami, passed down all aspects of Echigo culture, including fishing, farming, and craftsmanship. In addition to its unique history and culture, the village is blessed with beautiful natural scenery throughout the four seasons and two hot springs, Yahiko-Yu Shrine Hot Spring and Yahiko Sakuraigo Hot Spring. These make it one of the premier tourist destinations in Niigata Prefecture.

It is said that Amanokagayama-no-Mikoto, the great-grandson of Amaterasu-Omikami, landed on the coast west of Mt. Yahiko after crossing the Sea of Japan in ancient times. Since landing, Amanokagayama-no-Mikoto taught the people of Echigo various techniques such as making salt from seawater, fishing with nets and hooks, and rice cultivation. Furthermore, the ironworking techniques that are now thriving in Tsubame City and Sanjo City were also taught by Amanokagayama-no-Mikoto. This rich Echigo culture of fishing, farming, and craftsmanship has its roots here in Yahiko Village, Niigata Prefecture.

Experience the heartwarming sights of more than 50 types of cherry blossoms in spring, the mirror-like rice paddies during the planting season in the Echigo Plain, beautiful wisteria and hydrangeas, striking autumn leaves in the Momiji Valley, and snowy landscapes. Enjoy the sacred atmosphere and stunning seasonal scenery with the "Yahiko Petit Trip."
