KRaft Gallery
A portion of a former tabi (traditional Japanese socks) factory and warehouse, built nearly 90 years ago, has been renovated into a space where visitors can learn about the history and craftsmanship of the Tsubame-Sanjo manufacturing region while actually handling its products.

An indispensable product to repair and restore old buildings such as shrines, temples, and castles is the nail.
In general, a nail with a round shaft, which is widely referred to as the "Yokugi", is what was brought from
Europe in the Meiji era.
"Wakugi" on the other hand, produced in the same era, is different in that the large surface area and axis is
thicker and angular. It has been indispensable to the construction of Japan since the Asuka period.

Furthermore, Wakugi is made by being struck one by one with the hammer, which can represent a subtle difference in thickness. For example, the thickness and space of the tearoom alcove post, and making the nail line the same, is the commitment of architecture of space, even for a single nail, is expressed in the interaction of the subtle sense of craftsmanship.
