Detailed itinerary

On our first stop we will explore one of the villages around Margina situated in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains. It’s a place that retains its traditional charm with rural Romanian life, old houses, and beautiful landscapes. As you walk around, we will learn about the slower pace of life and the authenticity of the area. We will stop by a local museum to learn about the local community’s history.

We will visit the local wooden church of Margina, learning about the local customs.

To get a deeper understanding of rural life in Romania, we will visit a family-run local farm. We will learn about farming practices, the production of local goods (like cheese, honey, and seasonal fresh produce), beekeeping and the role of animals in rural Romanian life.

On our last stop, we will drive to another village where we’ll enjoy lunch with a local family. The cuisine of Banat is rich and flavourful with a background from various ethnic groups. We will learn about locally sourced, slow-cooked food while enjoying an authentic meal.
