This tour is just perfect for those who want to try Romanian cuisine the way locals do, but also learn a bit about Timisoara, European Capital of Culture in 2023.

We'll sample a wide variety of street food, and this will be the chance for you not only to discover some of the hidden spots of our town but also learn about the history of this amazing city by discovering 2 distinct areas.

Detailed itinerary

Our guide will meet you in front of the Opera house where you will start the tour and head to one of the hidden spots of the city to try the famous langos.

Tour the smallest square in town and have a traditional Romanian breakfast here - the famous covrig and sana

Cross the Victory Square and talk about the 20th-century buildings there while heading for the next surprise local speciality.

We will take the tram to Fabric, one of the oldest neighbourhoods of Timisoara, where we will sample some traditional pastries at a local bakery.

We will walk to the largest farmers' market in the city to see where locals go shopping. Also it is here that we will sample the Romanian staple - mici (mititei) with mustard, freshly grilled on the spot. We'll pair it with a pint of local beer to have it like locals do.

For our last stop, we will return to the city center via public transportation. Timisoara is famous for its large palette of desserts, so we will finish our tour tasting one of the many popular local sweets.
