After kayaking for 30 minutes you will arrive to the lagoon where you will meet our glowing friends, the Pyrodinium Bahamense, microscopic plankton capable of producing natural light at the touch of your hand (like fireflies)! Our famous two-hour bio bay kayak tour includes interesting interpretations of the reserve’s fragile ecology, star constellations, and a fascinating encounter with billions of bioluminescent organisms.

In order to best appreciate the bioluminescent phenomena, our tours run at sunset and early evening and it can get quite dark in the mangrove canal. Please be aware of this if you are afraid of darkness, a first-time kayaker, or have small kids.
Please keep in mind that this tour takes place in a natural environment and that the bioluminescent phenomenon, although rare, can be seen year-round. The intensity of brightness is unpredictable and can vary.
- Maximum weight to participate is 230 lbs (103 kg), no exceptions.
- Due to strict weight restriction all participants are subject to be weighted prior to beginning the tour. No cancellations or refunds will be issued if a person neglects to inform correct weight, and is not able to participate of the tour.
-Pregnant women, persons with recent surgeries, past injuries or back problems CANNOT participate on this tour.
-Leave behind electronics, important documentation, large sums of cash or credit cards.
-This is a 2-person kayak tour. Single travelers have a possibility of cancellation if there isn't another person to be paired with.
-Wear bathing suit underneath, bring a towel and extra clothes for after the tour.
-The bio bay is an unpredictable natural phenomenon influenced by multiple factors. Bioluminoscity level can vary from visible to minimum or none. Alternate methods such as the use of a tarp will be incorporated.
-Due to immense popularity, the bay can at times get crowded.There can be bumping other kayaks along the way.
• Tours will NOT be cancelled if it’s raining. If the tour needs to be cancelled for severe weather the Company will contact the client.
- Failure to provide hotel/lodging/cruise information upon booking may result in bus not being able to pick you at your location or close to it.
-Transportation from San Juan included, meeting point for persons staying in Rio Grande and Luquillo.
- Bus will only wait 5 minutes after arriving to your pick up location, we will not be responsible if you miss to arrive on time.
- This tour has a small change of having pick up rescheduled for 5:30-6:00pm. In the event of this happening you will be notified 24-48 hours prior to the tour.
-Bespoke LM Reserves the Right of Admission - If a person appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, not following instructions or causing disruptions the Guide has the right to Cancel their reservation, and No Refunds will be issued due to this.
