We will head northwest San Juan to the heart of the mountains driving through limestone formations. You will notice the change in the island’s geology, and explore a beautiful, barely known, nature spot. There you will river trek, work out climbing up rocks, and enjoy a secluded water pool protected by rock walls. You will be amazed as you swim by a hidden canyon to a magnificent waterfall. It is truly a spectacular place, full of peace and surrounded by greenery.
After this fantastic exploration, the next stop is a stunning canyon made of giant volcanic rocks carved by the passing river, and an impressive mountain at a distance acting as the custodian of this incredible place. Here you will learn about the history, beliefs, and legacy of our natives, the Tainos, and also why this area was sacred to them. Rock boulder and river trek as we explore dozens of petroglyphs carved on the rocks centuries ago, and let your imagination run wild with all the possible symbolisms. There is something mystical about this place; whether it is the feeling of becoming one with nature, the uniqueness of the scenery or the kindness of the neighbors. Utuado will, for sure, become one of your favorite places in Puerto Rico.
