About this experience

Discover some of Transylvania's most famous sights and history during this full-day exclusive tour. Join your experienced guide for a visit to legendary medieval sites: the Bran Castle and  Rasnov Fortress (only the outside precinct, as the interior is still under renovation). End the day with a stroll through Brasov's colourful historic centre. Admire the scenery as you travel in comfort to each sight by private transportation. Your guide will accompany you for entire the duration of the tour, ensuring to provide insight at each location.

Detailed itinerary

Stop 1

We will learn more about the real story of the castle, from its early beginnings, as a border stronghold, to its later time, as the romantic residence of the Queen Marie of Romania. And of course, we will discover all the facts and bust all the myths related to Dracula. We will not leave before having a stroll in the beautiful park near the castle, for an unmissable photo session.

Stop 2

We will learn about the citadel's history and admire the incredible view of the mountains around. We can climb up to the entrance of the upper precinct or stroll around the lower enclosure. To reach the fortress gates, we can choose between walking (approximately 15 min) or using the children's train. Please be aware that the inner precinct of the fortress is closed for renovation, so we will be able to see only the second enclosure.

We will have a walking tour in the historical centre of Brasov, discovering the rich history of the city and seeing the most important sites. We will see Council Square, the Black Church, Rope Street, The Schei Gate. At the end of the tour, we will have a walk at the foothills of Tampa mountain, for an amazing view of the city from above.
