Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

Silos: Have you ever considered storing your food in the ground? Well, I guess not. However, this technique was not a foreign concept in this specific area. As it is documented since pre-history, this system has been in use for centuries. Allow Clio Muse to give you all the necessary information about Silos and their usage and how this technique has reached our time as well. Shocking right?

Medieval Christian Necropolis: Archaeologists were astonished by the medieval Christian necropolis found inside the Moorish Castle in Sintra. Let Clio Muse be your faithful guide toward rediscovering all the exquisite untold stories of the 33 graves found on this site.

Primary Wall: Fortification is one of archaeology’s most interesting features, at least for men. The primary wall of the Moorish castle is considered to be one of its highlights, not only because of its astonishing appearance but also archaeologically-wise as well.

2
Stop 2

Virgin’s Grotto: Quinta da Regaleira is not your average Castle. In a location that is full of them, Quinta da Regaleira symbolizes a lot more than just a protection plan. Virgin’s Grotto is one of the many caves of the castle, symbolizing hell, in contrast to the gardens that symbolize heaven. Pretty impressive huh? Allow Clio's muse to be your faithful guide as you waltz through the castle giving you all the special insight only she knows.

Unfinished Well: Have you ever seen wells built like… towers? Quinta da Regaleira is more than happy to introduce you to them. The second well of the Castle, this one holds a special place in the hearts of the researchers as it’s left unfinished.

Orient’s Grotto: Yet another day at the Quinta da Regaleira, yet another cave to explore. This is not the first, and certainly not the last cave around here. However, the interesting thing is that everything is interconnected.
