We will pick you up from your hotel located in the city of Tarapoto to go towards Lamas located 12 miles by road. This lovely place is situated between 310 and 920 meters above sea level and that’s why it is known as the City with three natural floors. Also, it is surrounded by the Cordillera Azul national park. Upon arrival, you will take a tour around the Plaza Mayor of Lamas to appreciate different statues that represent the local customs and lifestyle. The City Hall and main Church are located around this small, but lovely square.

You can visit the Museo Chanka y de la Diversidad Lamista (optional) on the way to Castillo de Lamas. This museum will show you the culture, history, myths and stories about Lamas.

Explore the medieval Castillo de Lamas that belongs to the Italian businessman Nicola Felice, who fall in love of the city so he had built this castle as his home in 2005. With the past of the years, he decided to share this place with the local people and tourists. The Castle of Lamas was built on a hill with beautiful views to the Peruvian Amazon. Once upon inside the castle you will make a walking tour looking the regional and mythology art, as well as admire amazing murals from the local artist Geens Archentti.

The tour to Lamas continues to the neighborhood of Huayco, an ethnic Quechua speaking community that keeps the same ancestral customs. This is a special place because its inhabitants wear handmade colorful clothes and their have mud homes without windows cause they believe evil spirits enter through them. At the end of the tour, we are going to drop you off at your hotel.
