About this experience

Cerro Negro volcano is one of the most active volcanoes in Nicaragua! This sensational experience begins from the city of León where we pick you up, we drive for approximately 1 hour until we reach the base of the Volcano, we start hiking through the rocky side for approximately 45 mins to 1 hour- beautiful views to Los Maribios mountain range and the beautiful contrasts of its surroundings are not to be missed.

Once at the top we take a few minutes to enjoy the view, unique pictures! Then we proceed to dress up with the protective gear –your safety comes first-, your guide will provide all the instructions to carry out the activity that we know as “Volcano Boarding”, which consists of sliding down on a wooden board through the sandy part for the adrenaline rush experience!
At the end we have quick snack to refresh ourselves and head back to Leon or continue with one of our many additional tours…
