Detailed itinerary

Stop 1

Hiking Mount Bisoke is an unforgettable adventure for nature enthusiasts and thrill-seekers. Located in Volcanoes National Park, this dormant volcano rises to an impressive 3,711 meters (12,175 feet) and is famous for its scenic crater lake at the summit.

The hike typically starts early in the morning after a briefing at the park headquarters. Guided by experienced rangers, you’ll trek through lush rainforests, bamboo groves, and afro-alpine meadows, offering stunning views of Rwanda's landscapes and diverse flora. Along the way, you may spot golden monkeys, colorful birds, and other wildlife unique to the region.

The trail is challenging but manageable, taking around 5-7 hours round trip, depending on your pace and the conditions. The ascent is steep in places, with varying terrain, but the reward is worth the effort: a breathtaking view of the emerald-green crater lake surrounded by misty peaks.

What's not included

We offer coffee and tea at the park café to start your morning before the hike. Breakfast is also available at your own cost for those who wish to enjoy a hearty meal before the adventure
