We walk through the red light district. Behind the windows are many women of different nationalities waiting for their customers. Prostitutes have been found here since the 15th century.
We pass the monument to Major Bosshardt, the figurehead of the Salvation Army
We walk on the Zeedijk, a lively part of Amsterdam. The street of the fierce sailors, and you can still feel that a bit. Rich traders used to live here, but they later moved to the Heren-, Prinsen- and Keizersgracht. The sailors remained.
The Fo Guang Shan He Hua Temple on the Amsterdam Zeedijk is the largest temple in Europe, built in traditional Chinese palace style.
The Waag is a 15th-century building on the Nieuwmarkt in the center of Amsterdam. It was originally a city gate. The current name refers to its later function as a weighing house.
