Small group tour - Max 10 participants
A short ferry ride and an easy cycle through the north of the city and we’ll reach the Waterlands, the countryside just outside of Amsterdam. Soon it’s cows and farmers’ signs offering up freshly made ice cream or milk.
We'll discuss water and land management, see an old-school windmill, explain why the Dutch are so bike-crazed, and how they used these paths during the Second World War in search of the goods they needed to survive. There will be plenty of photo opportunities along the way as we cruise through a few villages and stop to take it all in.
Because the Netherlands is relatively flat, one does not need to be in top shape to partake and the electric bike makes it a breeze. We'll spend most of our time outside the city for a relaxed cycle journey.
In order to get out of town we'll take a ferry boat located at the back of Amsterdam's central train station
One of the Nine remaining windmills in Amsterdam, we'll have a look at this one as we head north out of town.
On this excursion, we'll hit a few villages to the north and take in a relaxing cruise through farmers' fields.
Another lovely village has a nice church in the center of town. On occasion, we'll have a brief break two climb the church and take in a view of the surroundings (subject to availability).
Our last village will give us a beautiful harbor view before we return to Amsterdam North.
We'll come back to Amsterdam stopping off to see a former shipyard with an important history.
In total we will cycle for approximately 90 minutes - 2 hours and cover roughly 15km
