Stop 2

The Berkeley Memorial was erected in 1883 in memory of Thomas Berkeley a legislator and owner of plantations in St. Kitts. After the fire of Basseterre on 4th July 1867, which destroyed East of West Square Street, it was discovered the fire vehicle had difficulty maneuvering through the streets. However, in 1883 it was decided to widen Fort Street and place the monument in the center which we now call The Circus. A small replica of "Big Ben at Picadilli Square in London". The monument has clocks and water fountains and became and still is a social venue for taxi drivers and everyone else especially during festive occasions.

Just a short distance is the Independence Square renamed from the former Pall Mall Square a former slave market. Here slaves were stored in the surrounding buildings in the dungeons and placed on display for sale. Most of the buildings surrounding the Square still have the same style of architecture. Today the square is a relaxing venue for everyone.

Stop 3

ADMIRE SCENIC COASTS & TROPICAL GARDENS
Enjoy a lovely coastal trip to Romney Manor and the Caribelle Batik Shop. Visit the vestiges of the 17th-century manor of Capt. Samuel Jefferson, great-great-great-grandfather of President Thomas Jefferson, and today home to a batik studio whose artisans produce prints and apparel of vibrant tropical themes and colors. Stroll the stately grounds and admire beautiful botanical specimens collected from the four corners of the world, including groves of Bismark Palms, Traveler Palms, and a magnificent 370-year-old African Saman Tree. Or, explore the periphery of a Caribbean rainforest located just steps from Romney Manor.

4
Stop 4

DISCOVER RICH HISTORY & DAZZLING VIEWS
Your third stop is the majestic Brimstone Hill Fortress, National Park. Perched atop a wind-swept volcanic cone, this sprawling, well-preserved and utterly fascinating 300-year-old UNESCO World Heritage Site will delight your inner history buff. Park officials rightly proclaim the 38-acre landmark "a veritable time capsule of international significance." Even if history isn't your thing, the fort's hillside position affords a stunning 360-degree view of St. Kitts's coastline, lush countryside, and neighboring islands--all sure to capture your heart and create the ultimate screen saver.

5

RELAX ON A TRANQUIL BEACH--OR SHOP TIL YOU DROP!
Timothy Hill presents a stunning view of Frigate Bay Resort and the ethereal, wind-swept Southeast Peninsula--with cloud-capped Mount Nevis as an awe-inspiring backdrop. Here, you can see the white breakers of the Atlantic Ocean to your left and the placid Caribbean Sea to your right. Afterward, we will cap off the day with an extended beach break on the exotic black-and-gold sand of South Friar's Beach or Frigate Bay Beach. Relax and sunbathe. Beach chairs/umbrellas can be rented at your leisure

Snorkel in crystal-clear water. Pose for a photo-op with our island's barrel-of-laughs monkeys! As an alternative, if you are in serious need of "retail therapy," we will gladly drop you off at some of the best shops in St. Kitts. Your day, your choice, your special memories!

6

To complete the 5 hours allotted for this tour, the remaining minutes will be spent with a scenic drive to and from each venue stop. Enjoy the picturesque landscape as you are driven by the engaging and knowledgeable guide. You may ask to stop for a quick picture of any interesting venue.
