About this experience

This tour is designed to enables our guests to view and have a detailed history of the island of st.kitts. It highlights our rich European and African history in narration with your local guide. We travel the entirety of the island traveling through our historical city of, Basseterre and into the western side of the island. The tour makes 4 stops. Firstly, the Romney manor and Caribelle batik shops, The Brimstonehill fortress, Black rocks then to Timothy hill on the southeast end of the island. During this time you’ll be given relevant information on the areas visited and. We not just give history but also gives information on our culture, our political system and our beliefs and traditions. At the conclusion of this tour you will be taken to your desired location. This tour i am sure you’ll find very interesting as your guide can be humorous at times. We will love to have you touring with us.

Stop 1

Timothy hill overlook is located on the southeast side of the city, Basseterre. A beautiful scenic view of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean seas can be seen with a view of our sister island, the birthplace of Alexandra Hamilton, Nevis.

Black rocks is where remnants of our volcanic eruption which accrued centuries ago can be seen. Persons can have a browse of the ares for photos and shopping with our local vendors for crafts and other items.

This area is where the first sugar plantation of the island is located which dates back to the early 16th century. The plantation was o formerly owned by Samuel Jefferson who was 3 generations of Thomas Jefferson. The area also has the well crafted batik products made before your eyes and a lush green botanical gardens.

Stop 4

Brimstonehill is the former British military base of the 17th & 18th Century and it sits on a 800ft high mountain. The structure and artifacts are well preserved for viewing and very pistique views of the surrounding islands are exquisite.

Stop 5

Our city, Basseterre, is the former french town on the island of Saint Kitts and as there is no french influence presently, its very well laid out with its architecture that goes back to the to the early 16th century also evidence of our African heritage can also be observed. Now totally a British commonwealth state one can see, walk around, take photos and shop around the city.
