This tour allows adventurous travellers to experience the beauty of the North Coast of Trinidad, beyond the typical Maracas and Las Cuevas Bay. The main attractions of this tour are the Blanchisseuse Spring Bridge, Turtle Rock, Paria Bay and Paria Waterfall. Depending on the traveller's fitness, there is the option to stop off at other beaches and coves along the way.
Pickup included
Great scenic views of the North Coast, Northern Range and the Caribbean Sea. (Option to stop to take photos)
Popular beach destination for locals and foreigners alike. (Option to stop to buy food or take photos)
The second most popular beach destination. (To view in passing)
The tour begins when we pick up the traveler/s at their accommodation. From there, we make our way to the Blanchisseuse Spring Bridge which is the start of the Paria Hike.
See the Spring bridge, and the Marianne river which flows under it. (Option to take photos)
Turtle Rock - Impressive rock formation offering views of the sea and coastline. (To take photos and listen to the sound of waves crashing)
Paria Arch - Large coastal Arch. ( Option to take photos or view in passing)
While at this end, we stop briefly to admire the Paria Arch. Next, we walk the length of the sandy Paria Bay (~800m) as we need to get to the other side of the bay. Beautiful beach. (To walk across and enjoy)
We stop and enjoy Paria Waterfall for about 30min - swim, take photos, and relax.
After this, we must walk all the way back to the beginning along the same trail. Hence, the entire hike involves about 16km of hiking.
On the drive back (approx. 1hr), I give the option to stop off at the popular Maracas Bay to have the famous Bake & Shark or some other local food (approx 40min). Since this is an option, this additional expense will be covered by the traveler. However, although it is an option, most people do opt for it as they are definitely hungry after the hike.
The spring bridge is located less than a minute after Marianne beach. The meeting point is just before the spring bridge. You can park for free in this open area along the sides.
