Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1 Pass by

Start the day off with a city tour of our capital- Basseterre. See structures constructed since the 18th century merged with modern upkeeping. This Old French town of Basseterre also shows unused slave quarters and a sense of island rush on a business day.
This city tour highlights landmarks such as Immaculate Conception Catholic Co-Cathedral overlooking Independence Square, the judicial buildings, the international football (soccer) and cricket stadium- Warner Park, St. George’s Anglican Church (Basseterre), Government Headquarters, and much more, all with their share to tell.
Island Main Road: The tour then cruises west driving between Liamuiga's fertile mountains that were once used for 350 years of harvesting sugar cane, from the 1650s to the mid-2000s. At the same time, viewing the almost still Caribbean Sea, university zones, former slave communities, and other developments. This segment allows learning about our culture and witness our island life.

2
Stop 2 Pass by

Cruise around the busiest part of Basseterre at our main Taxi stand, surrounded by 3 former international banks, a national museum, and the Berkeley memorial clock. Learn about the historical relevance of this water fountain standing in the heart of our town and the 4 faces it holds pointing to all connecting streets.

3
Stop 3 Pass by

See the beautiful compact public square in Basseterre now used for trade fairs, eating lunch, or just enjoying nature with the birds in the mids of a busy work day. Independence Square resembles the Union Jack with its shape and its center foundation. Once an old slave market now an area of peace and tranquility.

This site connects one to the emotions and history of the war that took place in this region where the Europeans fought the Amerindians for settlers' rights.
Just a minute's drive further west reveals a stunning view of the upcoming highlight community, Old Road, spanning as far as Brimstone Hill Forest.
This view allows one to see the carefully created landscape of St. Kitts, our volcano (Mount Liamuiga)- if clouds are clear and neighboring islands.

Located in the historic town of Old Road. Wingfield Estate is located at the base of our island’s central mountain range surrounded by a lush mountain slope. This national park includes the Wingfield rainforest that holds the Wingfield watershed which provides up to ¾ of our island's water supply.
This site highlights some of the property's original crops -tobacco & indigo, and showcases the process of harvesting and preserving sugar cane.
The rich history of this site educates about the function of animal-driven, water-driven, and eventually steam-driven methods of crushing the cane. The standing ruins and dated equipment bring to life the years of growth this industry gained. While it whets your appetite with the discovery of the original rum distillery, buried for many years.
Experience local culture, and have a taste of the local rum or freshly made none dairy smoothie. Enjoy the symphony of nature and be sure to listen out for friendly Vervet Monkeys.
