The Maica Lake Santarem is a wonderful biodiversity of the Amazon with an incredible natural fish nursery. Especially early in the morning or late in the afternoon the scenery is beautiful and different it is a remarkable place for its peace, for its calm waters and for its flora and fauna. The Maica lake Santarem is, without doubt, the best place in the area for fishing, observe reptiles and marvel at a multitude of birds including herons, toucans, macaws, and parrots.

The region is also inhabited by anglers, who are often seen with their canoes, waiting for the results of yet another fishery, who usually live in houses isolated from the communities and distant from each other. Here we have a magnificent environment, surrounded by life and filled with peace and harmony.

Selvagem Tours will take you to this paradise, on an unforgettable adventure! We will leave Alter do Chao, sailing on the Tapajos River towards the north and pass by the Piranhas Lake, Ponta do Cururu beach, Moça beach and we will make a short stop at crocodile lake and Beach to observe this point, which is home to turtles and alligators. We will continue to Ponta de Pedras beach, where we will stop for a swim and to enjoy some snacks if you wish, then proceed to Tapari Lake and Negro Lake with another stop.

Maica Lake SantaremWe will continue our adventure by having lunch at Casa do Saulo restaurant, which is a reference in relation to regional restaurants due to its structure, organization and mainly for the flavor, it offers visitors. After lunch, we continue seeing the beaches and beauties until Santarem and suddenly, surprise! The motorboat or boat that we are on will be positioned exactly on top of the famous Meeting of the Waters in Santarem. We will appreciate the beauty of the place, observe the city of Santarem, perhaps witness dolphins (which are the freshwater dolphins, in pink and gray colors) swimming side by side and, if you wish, you can feel the difference in the waters by diving directly into the water. Wild experience!

Then, for a few more kilometers ahead of the meeting of the waters, we enter the fascinating Maica Lake, where you will certainly have a particular moment in your life, with a chance to observe alligators on the riverbank, iguanas climbing trees, birds, monkeys, sloth animal, in addition to the flora of the region that gives an artistic touch to the landscape of the place.

We will return to Alter do Chao, witnessing a beautiful sunset directly on the horizon in front of our vessel.
