Visit the Het Scheepvaartmuseum and learn about the long maritime history of Netherlands. The museum houses approximately 400,000 objects, so there is a lot to see, from old maps of the world to unique ship decorations.The best highlight of the National Maritime Museum is a replica of the three masted “Amsterdam”, a large vessel of the Dutch East India Company that sank in 1749. It's a great opportunity to learn about sea voyages during the Dutch Golden Age and how the maritime technology has changed over the years. Many of the exhibits are interactive and child-friendly, so it's good to visit as a family.
