Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

Our tour guide will arrange an excursion to Orheiul Vechi situated in a picturesque setting (Applied to become the UNESCO World Heritage). You will have the opportunity to visit the most interesting archaeological site housing the ruins of two cities (14th -16th century). Tatars settled here on their expansion to Western Europe. Continue with a visit to the well-maintained Orthodox cave monastery called St. Maria Dormata which was expanded and modified inside the cliffs by monks over the centuries. At Orheiul Vechi, within the ethnographic museum, you can visit a traditional 19th-century Moldovan household. We also visit the “Saint Mary” church, which is in fact the cave monastery at Butuceni and is part of the Orheiul Vechi cave monastery complex. We visit the Craftsman’s House — a place that will immerse you in the traditional Moldovan atmosphere and acquaint you with local handicrafts.

2

The pride of the place is its traditional Moldovan cuisine: sarmale, chicken zeamă soup, roast meat with mămăligă, stew, pies, and many other dishes. Lunch in a local old-fashioned guesthouse, which serve authentic, ecological Moldavian food. Fabulous traditional food while visiting the Ethnic Village.

3

Learn the art of tasting at Château Vartely. Rediscover wine as a story and let yourself be carried away on a tour for the senses. The tour includes a visit of the entire Château Vartely estate — both the industrial area and the tourist leisure complex. This is a tour dedicated to wine lovers, connoisseurs, and collectors of oeno-gastronomic sensations who wish to dive deep into the “Château Vartely” wine portfolio. By choosing the “Taraboste” wine tour, you will have the opportunity, in a breathtaking landscape, to taste six types of wine — some of the most sought-after and gold-medaled at numerous international competitions.
