Our guide will be at the airport exit with a sign waiting for our visitor to start the tour.
We will depart from the airport taking the southern road that connects us directly to the city of Panama where we can see the cathedral tower and also observe the skyline of the city, giving a tour of the coastal strip where the monument of Vasco Nunez de Balboa, who was the first Spaniard to reach the waters of the Pacific Ocean is located.
Entering the Omar Torrijos Avenue, an area that previously belonged entirely to the canal zone, an area managed by the Americans, we will visit the railroad company that unites the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans long before the Panama Canal was built. We will also pass by the Marcos A Gelabert International Airport.
Entering this area you can see the change we have in infrastructure with American style and the great vegetation that surrounds us.
We will arrive at the Miraflores Locks Visitor Center. From there you will observe the boats making the crossing through the locks, a process that takes approximately 30 minutes in total, during this process we will give you an explanation of how the boats are lifted by gravity.
The tour continues in the Canal Museum which has four floors where each floor has a different theme that includes history, biodiversity, the Canal process and the expansion of the Panama Canal.
Continuing our tour we will move to the area of the Panama Canal Administration which is located in an artificial mountain, historic building where the act of delivery of the canal took place in 1999.
This is the time to walk through the narrow streets of the area of San Felipe considered cultural heritage by Unesco here we will take a tour of about an hour. Visiting the churches of greater representation and the squares that give an important contribution in the history of Panama today.
In Balboa's handicraft center we will find a great variety of handicrafts made by indigenous Panamanians. We will also see the clothing of one of the five regions found in the national territory.
We will visit the Amador Causeway, an artificial road that connects three beautiful cities through an artificial corridor created with material from the construction of the canal. This is one of the most visited places by Panamanians and foreigners. From there we can appreciate the most beautiful views we have of Panama City. Besides having the option to visit the duty free store located on the last island.
This place is also ideal to find excellent restaurants.
At the end of our tour we will return to the airport in time for our visitors to continue with their scheduled flight itinerary.
