Last year, the Gouda Cheese Experience opened its doors to the public in this beautifully yellow, monumental building in the center of Gouda. During a visit to this unique attraction, you go on an interactive journey through the world of Gouda cheese.

Local farmers bring their wagons to this market square to have their cheese weighed, inspected and sold there; just like people have done for centuries. The sold consignment is transported to De Gouden Waag on the horse-drawn wagon, where it is weighed. This is still done during the cheese market, which is held every Thursday morning from April to the end of August. It’s a top tourist attraction!

The Turfmarkt is a canal which has 30 buildings along it that are officially recognised as national monuments.

This bridge was built in 1867 by the smelting company called ''Prins van Oranje''. It is the last 19th century cast iron turning bridge in Gouda. The bridge is considered a national monument.
