Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

The public wash house in Rio nell’Elba is located inside a building with a trussed ceiling and large windows, near the Fonte dei Canali, from which it is powered.

Over time it has undergone various transformations. The old wash house was in fact located inside the building where the water pumping station is now located. In 1873, following a significant increase in the population, the Municipality had the wash house enlarged.

2

Terranera beach, very interesting from a geological point of view, is also one of the most suggestive beaches on the Island of Elba.

The peculiarity of this place is due to the beautiful Terranera lake (from which the beach takes its name): a small emerald green body of water, in stark contrast to the intense blue of the sea. The pond was born following the filling of sulphurous and marine water of the small mining basin where hematite, magnesite and pyrite were extracted.

The beach is actually divided into two beaches. The one further south is characterized by a stretch covered with a shimmering black sand, sparkling with specks of hematite, particularly red-hot in the summer heat.

3

The Arrighi Agricultural Company has been handed down for generations and over the years has acquired quality and size, this is a tour for all lovers of nature and enology, a journey through history and the landscape to discover the native wines of the island of Elba, personally told by Antonio Arrighi who will accompany us on his bike for 13 hectares around its vineyards, making us discover the organoleptic characteristics and the links with this beautiful territory.
The Tour in the vineyards of the Arrighi Farm, with tasting of 5 Wines and Evo Oil is absolutely a unique and unforgettable experience that leaves its mark in everyone's heart.
The route will be suitable for everyone and according to the starting point our guide will accompany you along dirt paths, among the local flora and fauna, with breathtaking natural views, mausoleums and structures of a historical and cultural nature.

4

The Carmignani walk is one of the many nature trails on the Island of Elba: beautiful to follow for the spectacular views that can be enjoyed along the trek and not particularly complex from the hiking point of view, therefore also suitable for children.

In about 1 km the path connects Porto Azzurro to the beach of Barbarossa.

The route is equipped with benches overlooking the sea, is illuminated and extends along the coast overlooking the sea with a beautiful view that goes from the Capo Perla lighthouse to the beaches of Straccoligno and the whole promontory of the Costa dei Gabbiani.

5

Forte Longone stands on the top of a cliff on the promontory overlooking the bay and the town of Porto Azzurro. Being the seat of a penitentiary, the internal structure cannot be visited but from the outside you can still enjoy a beautiful view of the east coast of the island.

6

La Pianotta is one of the two beaches in the town of Porto Azzurro. About 40 meters long, it is located at the end of the town's promenade, outside the marina area.

It is characterized by fine gravel with large rocks on the sides indicated for sunbathing. It offers clear, blue water, with a splendid backdrop for snorkelers and scuba divers.
