We will start our journey in Tasciaca, dated around year 0. This gallo roman city was known for it's clay pots and container.
2000 years was already making and selling wine. You guide will tell you the story of Tasciaca, onsite

This place is where the blocks of limestone were extracted and used for building cathedrals and chateaux all over the Loire Valley.

In Montrichard you will see what a medieval town would look like. Your guide will tell you different passionate stories about the meaning of these places . You will learn the difference between a medieval and a Renaissance style castles.

Stop 4

After our bike ride along the river and through the forest, we'll arrive at a stunning Renaissance château. Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch with the best local foods from the Cher Valley right in front of this impressive sight!

The total distance you will be riding is 36 kms for a total duration of 4,5 hours. This include the time taken during different stops and for the picnic lunch.
The visit of the inside of the chateau is not included. It would last another 2 hours. You have the possibility to visit it at the end of the tour, on your own, once we returned our bikes. Tickets are sold at the northern entrance of Chenonceau or online.
The picnic is served in the southern bank of the river, by the forest, facing the emblematic Renaissance castle. It is not possible to access to the inside from this side. Public entrance and ticket office are on the other side of the Cher River.

Meeting point

Maison Éclusière des Mazelles, it is an ancient lock house by the Cher river. Park next to the house.
