Our tour guide will meet you at your Chiang Mai hotel lobby for pickup. Next, your first stop will be at Mae Khachan Hot Spring.
Visit Mae Khachan Hot Spring to plunge your feet into warm, alleviating mineral water. There are three natural hot springs. Each pond is about 3 meters wide and has a room temperature of around 80 degrees. Eggs can be boiled within 3 minutes. Private mineral baths connect the hot springs to the baths. There is a market for souvenirs such as local cotton woven clothes and carved wood ornaments with restaurants, tea shops, cafes etc.
Then, visit Wat Rong Khun, a unique temple that stands out through the white color and the use of pieces of glass in the plaster, sparkling in the sun. The white colour signifies the purity of the Buddha, while the glass symbolizes the Buddha’s wisdom and the Dhamma, the Buddhist teachings. Eventually, there will be nine buildings, including an ubosot, a hall to enshrine Buddhist relics, a meditation hall, the monks living quarters, and an art gallery.
Next, we will proceed to the Golden Triangle, where you can see Thailand, Burma, and Laos meeting points.
After having lunch at a local restaurant, you will board a boat on the Mekong River to the Laos island of Don Xao. You are required to show your original passport to take the boat ride from the Mekong to the Laos side. Please bring this with you if you want to take this option. The tour will proceed to Mae Sai, the Thai border town with Myanmar, where we can spend some time at the bustling border market. You will also glimpse Myanmar, only ten meters away across the river.
Finally, returning to Chiang Mai, we will stop at an Akha and Yao hill tribe village. After enjoying both tribe villages, it starts for Chiang Maiwe and will drop you off at your Chiang Mai City area hotel.
