With bikes on the roof, we venture to the top of Doi Suthep National Park. But first we stop to hike the many levels of Monthatan Waterfalls. After soaking in the forest air we bridge the altitude with a drive to the summit . A classic hike here into these beautiful highlands brings us to a forgotten Hill tribe village. Lunch here grounds us. The kind mountain people make us feel at ease. Soon we are ready to ride down Suthep National Park. We cruise the first part of our 1200 m descent, visit an art Hmong Hill Tribe , which gardens and waterfalls keep us taking pictures. Passing the Bhubing Palace with amazing views we continue to the famous Wat Suthep. 300 steps separate us now from one the holiest places in Thailand. The magnificent temple grounds are a peaceful break from regular life. Culturally refreshed we continue cruising downhill on our comfortable Mountain Bike, admiring views of the Mae Ping valley .We see Wat Pha Lat, the ancient temple and leave with colorful memories.
We give our riders plenty of time to visit Chiang Mai's holiest place, still at 1100m elevation amazing views are a bonus from here.
