This is an authentic Wounaan community living in the 21st Century. You will experience a living pre-columbian culture embracing the modern world while maintaining their architecture, language, dress, music, art and culture. One foot in tradition, one foot in the modern world. We will learn about their origins, history, architecture, arts and crafts, daily life; the works.

The Wounaan Village is located inside this National Park. We will drive through the park on the way to the village. There is also a trail at the village where we can do a 20 minute hike and learn about some of the plants and trees used in the Wounaan's traditional medicine and culture.
We will drive past Miraflores and Pedro Miguel Lock systems on the way to the village. Most of the road to the village runs parallel to the Panama Canal and there are several moments where we get glimpses of the locks, the lake and the ships.
You will see traditional Wounaan culture in a modern world. Traditional architechture with modern materials, loincloths and solar panels. An amazing people embracing tradition and self determining their adoption of modern tools and technologies.
