About this experience

We will leave DA Gaeta, admiring the Aragonese Castle overlooking the sea. We will head to Monte Orlando Regional Park, a place that offers amazing and enchanting scenery. Unforgettable the glimpse of the cliffs, walls more than 80 meters high, which run overhanging the sea and the imposing and suggestive "Cave of the Turk". At the extreme point of the promontory awaits us the Sanctuary of the Split Mountain. On the opposite side of the beach of Serapo from the promontory of the Sanctuary, a sort of islet-rock is clearly visible, renamed by the locals "the ship". The nickname comes from the fact that the rock as a whole recalls the shape of a boat. Once in Sperlonga we will admire the medieval towers dating back to 1500 and the wonderful natural caves of limestone formation: the Caves of Bazzano, Capovento and the most suggestive, the "Blue Grotto" Immerse yourself in its crystal clear waters!
Very suitable activity for birthdays or stag/hen parties.

Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

The experience takes place between the waters of Gaeta and Sperlonga

2

These attractions are part of the marine nature reserve that is part of the Riviera di Ulisse Regional Park.

3

While sailing in the Gulf of Gaeta it will be fantastic to admire the Temple of San Francesco, neo-Gothic art, which overlooks in all its majesty the sea...

4

Leaving behind the Gulf of Gaeta, we will follow the coastline accompanied by the rhythmic breath of the sea. The majestic Aragonese Castle stands in all its pride on a rock overlooking the sea and still seems to watch over the entrance to the Port.

5

At the extreme point of the promontory, the Sanctuary of Montagna Spaccata awaits us.
The characteristic chapel dedicated to the Most Holy Crucifix was built on a rock wedged between the walls of the fissure and still today it resists suspended over the deep blue sea.

6
Stop 6

We thus reach a small cavity of the coast, barely perceptible and little frequented... The Devil's Well!
In ancient times this must have been a small karst cavity formed over millennia, favored by marine erosion, but following the collapse of the top of the Cave , this has been attributed the sinister nickname of "The Devil's Well".

7
Stop 7

It is a small inlet on which there is a small beach accessible only by sea, a detail that gives this place wild and uncontaminated characteristics from mass tourism. The origin of the name, “Cala dei 40 ormi” is not certain: for some the number represents the amount of oar strokes needed to get there. For others it is the measurement of the place carried out, precisely, in units of “oars”. It is still a beautiful and unique place to take a nice refreshing bath along our itinerary!

8

In this wonderful body of water you can take a half-hour swim break
It is possible to snorkel with the equipment we provide on board.
Half hour bath break

9

one of the most beautiful villages in Italy

10

sailing towards Sperlonga you will see from the sea the Grotta di Tiberio with the remains of the Villa and you will listen to a short historical story, about what it represented for the Roman Empire, and what it still represents today for the locals.

11

before changing course, we will continue towards the west to let you admire the stupendous Torre Truglia, symbol of Sperlonga, and the historic center behind it... It will be time to take an unforgettable photo.

We recommend the experience in the morning compared to the afternoon one because the sea is always calmer. In fact, it can happen that in the afternoon the sea can get agitated in a short time due to mistral winds, and in this eventuality the Tour has to be canceled with little notice for the guests.
