About this experience

Enjoy a full day of activity and discover everything you need to know to become a coffee expert !

Your visit starts at Nova Moca plantation, where you will learn the difference between Arabica and Robusta beans cultivated by the renowned Claudio Corallo. There you will discover the power to "roasting" while enjoying the various "locuras" made by Claudio Corallo, coffee beans wrapped with chocolate..

Then you will visit the Museum of Coffee at Monte Cafe plantation and meet with the team of Efraim, a young Santomean company, which aims at exporting 100% organic coffee.

Depending on the schedule, you may have lunch or start directly the visit of Efraim´workshop .

The journey ends in São Tomé Capital, at the Pereira Duarte shop for a tasting of home-roasted coffee. If we are lucky (and if he is there), the owner of the place will show us and tell us the story of one of the oldest roasting machines on the island !)

Detailed itinerary

Visit of the famous museum of coffee in Monte Cafe plantation.
There you will improve your knowledge about the species, cultivation and processes to make great coffee.
The museum is located in an ancient production building, where you will see incredible machinery that was use at the beginning of the XXth century.

Finish the visit with a coffee tasting, 100% organic from the local cooperative.

Discover how was organized the life in Monte Cafe plantation, during the colonial era.

Here you will enjoy lunch with a wonderful view on the bay of Ana Chaves (if the weather is nice !).

Then you will visit the workshop of Firma Efraim, and learn about their work and coffee production.
