The farm derives its charming name from the legendary colony of tortoises that were found in the vlei in the 1800s. The beautiful piece of land was dubbed Skilpadvlei and has been in the hands of the Joubert family since 1917. Today, fourth-generation Willie Joubert upholds the proud family tradition of harnessing the rich potential of the land with a dedicated commitment to quality. Skilpadvlei is a fully operational 78ha farm.

Neethlingshof Estate lies just outside the beautiful town of Stellenbosch in the heart of the Cape Winelands. An iconic avenue of imposing stone pines marks the entrance to the farm, leading to the traditional “werf” of the estate. Established more than 300 years ago, Neethlingshof Estate boasts some of the best restored and preserved traditional Cape Dutch buildings, leaving visitors with a distinct sense of history and old-world charm. The beauty and charm of the farm and surrounds have been vowing visitors for many years and we are very focused on maintaining and enhancing the natural beauty of the landscape.

De Waal Wines, situated on Uiterwyk Estate in the cool Stellenbosch Kloof Valley, has been a De Waal family concern since 1864. The experience waiting for the visitor is authentic and understated with personal attention from hands-on management.

Owned by Pieter de Waal, this historic family legacy boasts nine generations of passionate winemakers, entirely focused on delighting their patrons by offering exceptional wines. The wines combine elegant Old World finesse and abundant New World fruit. De Waal's mature vineyards offer grapes that produce deep, rich wines fondly recalled for their consistent quality and enjoyment.
