Stop 1

You are picked up from your place of accommodation in chiang mai in the early morning at around 6.30 am. Then drive to the foothill of mountain to join the locals in providing morning alms to Buddhist monks. Your private guide helps you fill the monks’ alms bowls with offerings like rice, cake, snack, curry and so on. In return, the monk will chant and give some type of blessing or prayer.
Morning alms is about more than just providing daily food. You will be in the daily morning ritual all over Thailand for a very long time with the Buddhist monks.
Re-board the minivan to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, which stands on the flank of the mountain at an elevation of 1,056 meters (3464feet). Then climb the staircase to the top, admire the Lanna style golden pogoda covered with engraved gold plates, flanked by four ornamental umbrellas and enjoy the complete panoramic views of whole Chiang Mai city and wonderful countryside landscape.

Stop 2

Visit tunnel temple named Wat Umong, completely different from other typical temples.
Enter the tunnels of Wat Umong and see the impressive Buddha images. It doesn’t matter what religion you have. When you go inside the tunnel, it whispers to you the secrets of this world and old history of this temple built in 1297.

Stop 3

Let’s drive 1hour approximately to the largest place among villages that have been set up to display the lifestyles and cultures of different hill tribe groups which typically reside in the north of Thailand. Here you will meet Lahu, Padong , Palong (the Long Neck Karen), Yao, Akha, Kayaw, Mhong and White Karen and Your guide will translate your questions to the villagers so you can communicate with them. You will visit the kindergarten, Budddism Hall, Saint Nicholas Church. While you are walking through the thatched roof huts, you will meet hill tribe women wearing the traditional Hill tribe costumes, displaying for sale a wide variety of Hill Tribe embroidery, cloth, jewelry and many other items.
if you are short of time and would like to see the Karen Long Neck and other hill tribes groups then this might be the best bet.

On the way to Mon cham, let’s have photo stop at the Royal Development Project that aims to educate the hill tribes people on modern farming techniques.

Visit Mon jam, where you are amazed by incredible panoramic views high up in the mountains. There’s a valley on one side and step-like multi-color terrace fields on another side.
