Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

You are picked up from your accommodation at around 8.30 am.
Board the minivan to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, which stands on the flank of the mountain at an elevation of 1,056 meters (3464feet). Take in the natural landscapes as you relax on a scenic drive through the winding roads that lead to Doi Suthep temple and the Hmong hill tribe.
Take the cable car to reach the top, then admire the Lanna architeture style golden pogoda covered with engraved gold plates, flanked by four ornamental umbrellas. As well as seeing this magnificent temple the trip would be worth it just for the stunning views across Chiang Mai alone. Be impressed with the great scenic panoramic view of Chiang Mai city from 3,520-foot (1,056-meter) viewpoint on the mountain top.

2

we will continue to a Hmong hill tribe village where you’ll learn about their traditional way of life. Check out the residents’ colorful clothing and feel free to bargain for handicrafts at the small shops standing along narrow path to the beautiful garden at near the top of the hill. The garden is beautiful with many different coloured flowers. The view from the garden is also fantastic.
You can rent a Hmong costume for 50baht (at your own expense) for photo shots.
There is a nice coffee place on the top overlooking the village. Do try the coffee that has been made from coffee beans grown by the hill tribe. Same goes for the strawberries.

3

Have Lunch. You will be guided to the clean, delicious and affordable restaurant.

4

Let’s drive 20-30minutes approximately to the Bo Sang Handicraft Centre, where you meet the local artisans making the world famous Paper umbrellas whose brilliant designs are mysteriously, magically impervious to rain. Watch the whole process from making the bamboo struts, covering them with paper, putting them out to dry and then hand painting them. You can ask them to paint a variety of beautiful designs on items that you bring to them (for example a Purse, mobile phone covers, handbag, hat, jacket, t-shirt, even the leg of your jeans). Even very complicated scenic designs can be painted on your object right in front of you in minutes. That would be a treasured gift for either yourself or someone special back at home.

5

Visit Sankampaeng hot springs that is very relaxing with plenty of flowers and green space.
Don’t forget about the eggs. Buy eggs in a basket and hang in the water where it comes out of the ground at 105 degrees C. Then roll up your pant legs and take off your footwear and dunk your feet in the free foot bath. Fetch your eggs, enjoy the eggs with sauce while enjoying hot water therapy.
There were a few different options of how to enjoy the Springs including a massage place, mineral bath and swimming pool. Enjoy the picnic with the locals.
We will be back in Chiang Mai at about 5.00 pm.
