We will start the tour by making a scenic ride to Lisse.
Lisse is a small town in South Holland, famously known for Keukenhof Garden and the surrounding flower field. Unsurprisingly, Holland is home to one of the most magnificent flower gardens in the world.
In magic springtime, Dutch town of Lisse turns into a colorful landscape with all hues and tints of colors - the vibrant blooms of over 7 million bulbs, thoughtfully placed along serene ponds and romantic pathways.
Keukenhof landscape has its own peak blooming time: first appear crocuses, followed by vibrant daffodils, then fragrant hyacinths and finally, come the tulips around mid-April.
It's perfect for photo ops (basically just like all places form this tour, so keep your cameras ready at all times!)
This tour is a great way to escape restless Amsterdam and enjoy another side of the Netherlands. This region is filled with nature, picturesque landscapes and authentic spots.
The striking colors of the flowering tulip bulbs are a typical sight in Holland during the spring. You will explore the Keukenhof flowers gardens, where you will be amazed by colors of about 7 million bulbs and 800 varieties of tulips. This is a real feast for the eyes, which looks like thousands of paint buckets exploded all over! To call the scenery epic would be an understatement.
The refreshing aroma in the air and the tranquility of the garden will fill up your heart and will revive your mind. It is really worthwhile to visit this park, because you will understand what lies behind the Dutch culture: love for beauty and nature, order, skill, experimenting. This park is very big and every year it is changed and renewed, and the result is impressive. Soak it all up.
Enjoy jaw-dropping scenery of Dutch countryside with best windmill views ever. You will observe windmills, grazing animals, Dutch boats and fields. Keep your camera ready to capture some of the windmills, as there are more than a thousand of them in the Netherlands.
Experience a hands-on clog workshop where the famous wooden shoes transform from mere piece of wood into wearable clogs in about 5 minutes.
The history of the clogs goes back to the 9th century. Clogs with elaborate decorations given as wedding presents, that are over 300 years old and only worn on Sunday.
Then you will head to traditional Dutch cheese farm. On your way there you will take in the views of magnificent beaches of coastal town. The Netherlands produces and exports millions of tons of cheese every year, and about seven pounds (3 kg) are eaten here annually per person. Farmers will tell you about traditional cheese making, and your children will definitely get overexcited, as they can interact with cute farm animals here! Finish off with a gourmet cheese tasting, and then buy some cheese to enjoy back at home.
Our time together is over, and grabbing yourself some treats will make it a little easier to swallow.
