The water has a temperature in excess of 100 degrees centigrade and the area is so active that there is ongoing research into how to tap the springs as a potential energy resource.

Afterwards visit some of the many handicraft villages in the Sankamphaeng area. San Kamphaeng is a ‘home of handicrafts’ and the perfect place to browse through unique items that are made right here in Chiang Mai. Your first stop will be at Bo Sang, a village known for making brightly colored paper umbrellas.
