Available all year but perhaps best enjoyed in spring or summer, this hiking tour will take you out of the hustle and bustle of the city and up to some of the nicest views to be seen in Sapporo. Led by an English-speaking guide, you will be accompanied up and back down two mountains - Mt. Maruyama & Mt. Okurayama.
This tour will start at Sapporo Station in front of “Myomu” (The Circular Stone Structure) in front of the South Exit of Sapporo Station. Can not miss it! Please meet there at 8 a.m. Your guide will greet you there and after brief introductions and smiles we will be off on our wonderful tour.
Arrive at Maruyama St and walk to the base of the hiking trail. Start our hike up the 225 meters (738 feet) Mt. Maruyama. Slowly (a comfortable pace) ascend to the summit of Mt. Maruyama.
Enjoy the panoramic views at the summit. Take pictures, relax. Start our descent down Mt. Maruyama. Hiking down the mountain at a steady slow comfortable pace, we should finish by 12:00. After that you will be given some time to enjoy lunch.
After lunch, we will walk to nearby bus terminal to take a bus to Okurayama Ski Jump.
Once arrived at the Okurayama Ski Jump. We will first pay a visit to the Olympic Winter Museum. After that we will go to and ride the chairlifts to the Observation Deck/top of ski jump and enjoy the panoramic views from the observation deck of Sapporo. Back on the ground we will slowly make our way back to Sapporo Station.
Arrive back at Sapporo Station where the tour concludes.
After exiting the main JR gates of Sapporo Station TURN LEFT. Walk towards the South Exits (南出口) of Sapporo Station. After a very short walk you will surely notice “MYOMU” Your guide will be standing in front of this stone structure wearing a SNOW MONKEY RESORTS tour tag.
