Detailed itinerary

1

Start your tour by visiting the Grossmünster and hearing its tales. It is one of the most important Churches in Zurich and amongst the most famous landmarks of Zurich located in the Old Town. Built around 1100, it portrays romanesque-style. Here, you will admire the twin-towers of this magnificent Church.

2

As we continue, you will see the picturesque Rathaus (the Town Hall). Built alongside the river Limmat, it is a historic building built towards the end of the 17th century. You will notice that the building has a blend of baroque and renaissance styles.

3

Walk on the pedestrian street known as Niederdorf which is made of cobblestone. It has winding alleys, coffee shops, fast food restaurants and book stores along its way. It runs parallel to the Limmat river and the Limmatquai street. You will sense a medieval feel while you are here.

4

Located between the Limmat river and the Bahnhofstrasse street, you will walk across the Lindenhof, a public square in the historic center of Zurich. It is the site where a Roman Castle existed and is one of the places which had the earliest settlements in Zurich. From here, you will see views of the Grossmünster, the Town hall along with other buildings.

5

Explore one of the oldest areas of Zurich, you will walk along Rennweg, the medieval road of Zurich which is now a pedestrian zone free from traffic. It is very close to the Zürich Main Station and is amongst the exclusive shopping areas of the city alongside the Bahnhofstrasse.

6

Visit the St. Peter’s Church, located next to the site of Lindenhof hill, the site of the Roman castle. A church already existed here between the 8th and 9th century. Here, you will see one of the largest Church clock faces in Europe which spans 8.7 meters in diameter.

7

Connecting the Zurich main railway station to the Zurich lake, you will visit the Bahnhofstrasse which is the topmost shopping street in the city and is home to more than 200 banks from all across the world. It is also known as the Swiss Wall Street, is home to the world's largest gold market and is also referred to as the most expensive shopping strip in the world.

8

Finally, you will visit the Fraumünster, which is built on the site of an Abbey dating back to 853. Here, you will see stained glass windows designed by the Russian-French artist Marc Chagall.
