Few people know the souls of things, and even fewer can make these souls perceptible and tangible to others. Maurice can. If you also desire to belong to this chosen group, you must come to Maurice. “à Maurice”, from Maurice de Mauriac, is a meeting place for people who want to feel and experience the soul of mechanical watches.
You’ll disassemble a Unitas pocket movement – the device that powers a manual watch – and then reassemble it under the watchful eye of a private watchmaker.
Your experience starts right at our Atelier in the middle of Zurich.
We, the Dreifuss Family warmly welcome you at our very unique Atelier.
Firstly, we will tell you the interesting history of the Maurice de Mauriac brand adventure, explaining you everything from the beginning.
We give you insights on how we work and how we produce the very own style of watches.
This is followed by us giving you an introduction into the Swiss Watch Industry to learn how it all started.
(15 - 30minutes)
Then the main part of the attraction starts as you will sit down with our well-educated watchmaker, who shows you in detail how a mechanical watch works. Next, it`s YOUR turn to assemble parts of the watch. You will wear an original watchmaker dress and a magnifying watch glass to do so while our watchmaker is overviewing the process. Photos are allowed to be taken throughout the whole time.
In the end, you all receive a gift to remember this exclusive watch workshop.
