Detailed itinerary

1

We shall start our adventurous tour by strolling through the Old Town of Hamelin. Are you afraid of rats? You will immediately notice that the pavements in the old town are painted with rats, painting that beholds one of the legends of this small town. Don’t worry, they don't bite! Our guide will lead the explanation regarding this particularity of this small town.

The Pied Piper house is our next stop. Even though the legend surrounds this building, you should be afraid of trying its kitchen. The story stops at the beginning of the kitchen where we can find good plates of local food. Our next stop is at the Minster of St. Boniface which dates back to the 9th century and is the oldest church in Hamelin.

We continue at the market church of St. Nicholas, which was built before the 13th century, and to the modest but beautiful baroque 18th century’s Garrison Church. We finish our tour with a visit at the shopping HefeHof spot. This former factory has now shops selling organic produce and wine, specialist markets and international restaurants. Don’t forget to buy a toy rat souvenir!
