The tour starts from Sofia. You will be picked up from your hotel/accommodation at 8 a.m. After approximately one and a half hour’s drive, we reach Borovets – the oldest mountain resort in Bulgaria and on the Balkans, and among the most beautiful ones. Amidst the majestic pine trees, we take a walk around this magnificent place in Rila Mountain. After enjoying the wonderful snowy landscapes, we visit Tsarska Bistritsa Palace – a royal residence of the monarchs of the Third Bulgarian Kingdom in the first half of 20-th century.
Then we go for a pleasant hike to the Black Rock—a natural formation with amazing views from above. The landmark has also historical significance, related to some dark episodes during Bulgaria's communist past. The hike takes around two hours in both directions on a forest track with a gentle slope.
When we go back to Borovets, we have time for lunch. And after that, lovers of winter adventures can take the opportunity of sledding along the white slopes, in a specially designated zone for sleds. With this snow fun, our visit in Borovets ends, and we go back to Sofia, full of nice experiences and knowledge of interesting places, historical events and important figures. The tour finishes with a drop-off at your hotel/accommodation.
