It is famous for the ruins of the ancient city of Acragante and the extensive archaeological site of the Valley of the Temples, where numerous Greek temples are preserved. On the outskirts of the modern town is the Museo Archeologico Regionale, where various artefacts and a telamon (or atlante, a statue of a man that serves as a column) are on display.
