About this experience

This tour is suitable for those who come visit Guangzhou from Hong Kong by high speed train in the morning and back to Hong Kong in the evening in one same day, without staying a night in Guangzhou. There's high speed train commuting between Hong Kong and Guangzhou so makes it easy to drop a visit to Guangzhou even you have your accommodation and limited time in Hong Kong.

We will pick you up at Guangzhou south or east train station(the bullet train stations) to start the tour, visit the major sites in downtown Guangzhou and at the end of the tour, drop you off at the same train station for your return train back to Hong Kong. Your local English speaking tour guide and private car driver will pick you up at Guangzhou East Train Station(in downtown city, 1.5 hours bullet train from HK West Kowloon) or Guangzhou South Train Station(south outskirt not in downtown city, 1 hour bullet train from HK West Kowloon), holding a sign with your name written on it, and start the tour straight away from there.

Visit the grand magnificent western architecture of a catholic cathedral built by French in the 19th century, the local people call it with a nickname "Stone House". Available to view inside and it's open to the public for free for some rituals or religious activities.

Colonial area in Guangzhou by British and French in the 19th century after the First Opium War in Qing Dynasty, an artificial island next to Pearl River with many western style architectures used to serve for diverse purpose over 100 years ago like consulates, banks, hospital, church, police station and so on.

This is the only place in Guangzhou where you can find unique art and architecture with exotic atmosphere, and now there are always many brides and grooms taking marriage photos taking advantage of the beautiful background with professional photographers.

It also witnessed many first time records in Guangzhou like the first western restaurant with train compartment dining hall, the first five-star hotel in China(White Swan Hotel).

A 1000 meters long local pedestrian shopping street in the old downtown of Guangzhou with "Qilou" Cantonese style architecture, various stores and shops selling shoes, clothes, fruit, toys, local food, jewellery and so on with many Chinese element decorations.

Vehicles are forbidden in this street area for an ideal and leisure walking experience for local pedestrians. Reasonable price and local people like to do shopping here, not touristy place.

Visit Chen Clan Academy(also named as Chen Clan Ancestral Hall) which was first built in 1893 in late Qing Dynasty by the biggest and most popular Chen Families who share the same and most prevalent surname "Chen" in Guangzhou.

It has survived the devastating Cultural Revolution in 1960s-1970s and been restored and renovated as the most famous Guangdong folk art museum in Guangzhou, travellers would be deeply impressed by the many refined and delicate items like wood carving, porcelain and pottery, brick carving, iron casting, Chinese painting, Chinese calligraphy, embroidery and so on from old to modern

The authentic and original tomb site and mausoleum of the 2nd King of Nanyue Kingdom in Han Dynasty over 2000 years ago.

It has been discovered and unearthed in 1983 and being built into a museum open to the public for visiting.

You can step into the shabby ancient tomb site through narrow tunnels to see the tomb structure and remains, and afterward to visit the museum above which displays numerous antiques dug up from the site, like ancient armors, musical instruments, jades, mummies and so on. Your guide will brief you about relevant history and culture around that era for this Nanyue Kingdom occupying Guangdong and most of Guangxi territory, the southern part of China.
