Here, meet your artist instructor and start by watching a demonstration of the ancient art of Islamic calligraphy.

Admire the calligrapher’s delicate yet flowing strokes, and learn how Arabic calligraphy was developed in the writing of the Quran, Islam’s sacred text. Discover how Turkish calligraphy grew from this rich art form, and was used by the Ottomans for hundreds of years.

After watching the artist in action, choose a particular Arabic letter and practice recreating it using specialized tools such as the kalem.

Midway through your session, break for a hot drink and cookies to keep your concentration and creativity flowing. Then, develop your technique further with more pointers from the artist before producing your final composition.

At the end of your 2-hour workshop, leave with your finished artwork as a souvenir.
