Kopan Monastery is a study center for Monks such as Buddhist study, meditation, retreat, and Buddhism practice. Boudhanath and Swoyambhunath are two Buddhist UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu.
The full-day tour is a peaceful way to see these two World Heritage Sites and Kopan Monastery, a path to ultimate happiness and freedom. The tour begins at 9 am from your hotel in a private car. It takes to Kopan to explore peace and knowledge. Next stop tour the immense Boudhanath Stupa. This is home to the largest Tibetan community outside of Tibet.
The next stop is then Swayambhu or “Monkey Temple”. Located on a hillock, it affords a wonderful view of the Kathmandu Valley. The site is approximately 2000 years old and features a large stupa. While it is primarily a Buddhist holy site, this place helps to understand the unique synergy between Hinduism and Buddhism which only exists in Nepal. A small-group tour includes a private guide.

The tour begins with a private car coming to the hotel in Kathmandu at 9 am. The drive to Kopan is quick and relaxing in the private car takes an hour to reach Kopan. Explore the Kopan Monastery and around 10.30 am you are welcome to attend the Daily Dharma Talk (Mo - Fri). Explore around Kopan Monastery with the guide and enjoy lunch in the Kopan café (Lunch is not included in the package) seeing the beautiful Kathmandu valley.
It is a quick trip to Boudhanath arrives at about 1.30 pm. This is the largest Buddhist Stupa in Nepal and the third-largest in the world. It is hard to appreciate the immense size of the Boudhanath Stupa until it is seen in person.
Boudhanath is home to the largest Tibetan community outside of Tibet. The stupa is surrounded by numerous Buddhist monasteries. The guide provided will explain the Buddhist symbolism which at Boudhanath is strongly influenced by Tibetan Buddhism.
Swoyambhunath stupa is another important part to explore for Buddhist hub. It is the highest point of Kathmandu valley and able to see the 360-degree view of Kathmandu Valley from the top. Explore around terrace steps, stupas, shopping centers, and World peace pond offer you a unique part of Swoyambhunath stupas.
It is also called ‘Monkey Temple” because of all the rhesus monkeys that call this place home. Their many antics delight visitors as they are always doing something interesting.
