Next to the historical Eagle's Nest the 11th century Fortress Hohenwerfen, one of the most magnificent mountain fortifications in the Alps, is another top highlight of this 8-hour private tour from Salzburg.

From April 1st to about May 10th (depends on the snow conditions of the year), the Eagle's Nest direct access road is closed, alternatively we offer to visit the Rossfeld summit instead. From this vantage point, soak in panoramic views of the stunning Austrian and Bavarian Alps and the nearby Eagle's Nest. Feel free to choose this option also when Eagle's Nest is opened if you prefer a much less crowded, more local site than the Eagle's Nest.

Take a stroll to the very close summit Kehlstein to overlook the picturesque Bavarian and Austrian Alps. Castle of Werfen is one of the most magnificent mountain fortifications in the Alps and was also used in the “Where Eagle’s Dare” movie with Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood. It was the castle of Werfen which was used as Eagle’s Nest, not the original location at the Bavarian Alps. Marvel at the birds of prey show of the historic state falconers, where you can see mainly native birds of prey in free flight!
