The Castle of Werfen is one of the most magnificent mountain fortifications in the Alps and was also used in the “Where Eagle’s Dare” movie with Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood.
After capturing some beautiful and memorable photographs, you’ll continue your journey onwards to Gmuend, Carinthia. Upon arrival, you will have 1 1/2 hours in Gmuend to explore the lovely village as well as eat lunch (own expense).
Stop in the San Daniele and try that great San Daniele prosciutto with some wine or beer and fresh white bread before heading on to Venice.
Subsequently, you will proceed to the World Heritage Site of Venice, an exquisite city of marble palazzi situated on a vivid green lagoon.
It takes about two minutes to get to the pier from the Venice Boat Terminal. Take the public Vaporetto or a private boat to explore downtown Venice in elegance.
