Meet your private guide and driver at your hotel lobby in early morning, and head to Guoliang Village and Guoliang Tunnel Road. Guoliang Village was a tiny Chinese village high in the Taihang Mountains in Henan Province. It was built on cliffy and abrupt mountains with an elevation of 1000 meters, and has a specialty in stone.
Guoliang Tunnel is one of the most famous tunnels in the world. The road was built in 1972. With hand tools, 13 strong villagers started carving a road down the side of the canyon road. It was finished in 5 years, and the result is that the village is famed as a tourist attraction.
