About this experience

Embark on a unique adventure to the Berlengas archipelago. The perfect tour for lovers of beautiful landscapes and nature!

We'll start with the trip to Peniche, where our guide will deliver some knowledge about the towns we pass by.

Upon arriving in Peniche, you'll board the boat to Berlengas, which takes about 40 minutes.

Berlenga Island is the only inhabited island in this archipelago. In 2011, UNESCO classified Berlengas as “World Biosphere Reserve”, which is indicative of the rich fauna and flora that can be found on the islands.

In the summertime, the warmer weather results in great interaction moments, which adds to the beautiful scenery and clear water!

After this astonishing island tour, you can have lunch in a typical Peniche restaurant (at your own expense), and visit the wonderful village of Óbidos (optional).

In Óbidos, you will get to enjoy the views brought by the centennial walls of Óbidos Castle, and return completely fulfilled!

Detailed itinerary

1

Peniche and Berlengas are located in the so-called Costa Oeste (West Coast), an area of debatable definition located on the coast north of Lisbon. It is an area deeply marked by the Atlantic Ocean, with beautiful beaches and a very dynamic agricultural and fishing activity.
It takes about 1.5H from Lisbon to Peniche, but it will be a nice journey with Portugal's history of that area.

2

Boat tour - Relax and enjoy this 40-minute boat trip to one of the most precious islands of Portugal - Berlenga.

Berlenga Grande is the largest island of the Berlengas archipelago. The caves cross the whole island, being the biggest one the Furado Grande.

You will have free time in the island to explore it and bring home some portuguese tan!

3

This last stop is optional. It would be interesting to know Óbidos and take some photos in its beautiful walls full of history!
This charming hamlet of white houses is enclosed in 14th century walls. When King Dinis married Isabella of Aragon in 1282, Óbidos was one of his wedding gifts.
