We’ll take you close to a restricted area where few are allowed to go, offering an exclusive view of the outer Schengen border between Lithuania and Russia. This border, which divides the Gliders' Dune (Sklandytoju kopa), is more than just a modern boundary—it has a captivating historical significance. Long before the present borders, this region was a crucial part of the Curonian Spit, a landscape deeply influenced by crusader conflicts and shifting geopolitical powers.

We will paddle on the Curonian Lagoon, which is typically calm with minimal waves due to the prevailing westerly winds. Even when the wind is stronger, the dunes provide a wind shadow, keeping the waters calm for us.
